Spettatori
In the sculptural collection Spettatori (Spectators) the partial dematerialization of some figures, the fleetingness of poses and movements, profiles and outlines, which are at intervals visible and then blur, bring the story of existence to a visual plane, from tragedy to the most mocking gesture. In 2001 the art video Ferdinandea l'isola pensante was filmed (paintings by Franco Accursio Gulino, directed by Daniele Salvo and Claudio Pappalardo, a Co-production of the Municipality of Palermo with Fahrenheit 451, Turin's theatre); inside this video gypsum sculptures become "spectators" of an oneiric world where contemporary man is restless, bewildered, unstable, caught in the painful spiral of its evolution
